Why a shared framework can matter
Many people in the frum community hesitate to start therapy. Will a therapist respect my values? Will I have to explain Shabbos, shidduchim, kollel life or why I can’t just “skip” a family simcha? Will my emunah be treated as part of the problem?
Working with a therapist who shares your framework can make it easier to focus on what brought you in. Lisa brings a Torah-informed perspective to her work. Ideas like teshuvah, emunah and hishtadlus can be part of the conversation when they’re meaningful to you, alongside well-researched clinical approaches such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and CBT. (Lisa explores some of these connections on the blog, for example in The Intersection of Trauma and Teshuvah and Finding Serenity in Financial Struggles.)
You don’t need to be at any particular level of observance to work with Lisa. She welcomes people across the spectrum of Jewish life, and you’re welcome to bring questions or struggles with faith itself. A Torah-informed perspective is available when it’s helpful, and is never imposed.

Privacy and discretion
In a close-knit community, privacy matters. Because Lisa sees clients by secure video, there’s no waiting room to be seen in. You can meet from home or another private space. What you share in therapy is confidential within the limits set by law and professional ethics (for example, when someone’s safety is at risk). Lisa will explain these limits in your first session.
What to expect
-
A first session where you can share what’s going on, your goals and your background. Nothing about your religious life needs to be translated or defended.
-
An approach that fits you. Lisa uses a personalized, integrative approach, drawing on EMDR, IFS, CBT, Brainspotting, TF-CBT, Narrative Therapy and STAIR as needed.
-
Scheduling that fits busy lives. Video sessions remove travel time, which helps busy parents and working couples.
